Pinterest Pick of the Week, Freebie, & Daydreaming

When warmer weather is around the corner, most people start to think of spring cleaning and the many things on their to-do lists for their yards.  Right around March, my mind always starts to drift to....next school year.  It is about this time every year when I take a good hard look at what is going on in my classroom.  What is going well? What is not going so well? What needs tweaked and changed? What needs completely revamped?  And - the fun part - what will my classroom theme be next year?!?!

I start daydreaming, people.  My sticky notes become so scattered with thoughts, ideas, and to-do lists that I can't find my desk anymore.  My students begin to think I'm going crazy by changing little things so I can "try them out" for the fall with next year's students.

Enter Pinterest.

This year, unlike the past, I have boards to search, pictures to pin, pictures to repin, and
Oh My Gosh I am addicted!  I don't think I'll ever be able to choose a theme.

So, for Wednesday's Pinterest Pick of the Week, I found a super cute classroom picture that I had to share.

Check out this reading table!  SO fun!  Wouldn't you just love to read with your teacher at a table like this?

This almost makes me want to do a Hawaiian theme, but I am contemplating the idea of an Amusement Park Theme - What do you think?!

I have to share this brilliant little idea, as well.  Check out how this teacher used salt shakers to organize and keep her glitter tidy? Great idea!  Mine are always spilling everywhere.

Before I head off to bed, I posted a St. Patrick's Day Word Work Pack on my TPT store last night.  I'll post more about it tomorrow, but I wanted to share a couple freebies from the pack with you tonight.  This learning pack is geared toward first grade common core standards, but I know many struggling second graders could use this practice, as well! :)

Click on the picture to download the freebies.

Here is a practice page on identifying letters and sounds within a word.
Hats Off to Digraphs! (Identify the digraphs by following the color code.)

Enjoy!  After I stop stalking searching Pinterest for more ideas...I may finally fall asleep.  :)

Happy Learning,

I am soo like that too with the sticky notes! I LOVE Pinterest b/c I finally have my ideas organized and don't have to worry about hitting my Portaportal for links (and figuring out where I put them!).

Glad I'm not the only one who starts thinking about the next year before the first is over! LOL
